Easy Homemade Applesauce

Ingredients

  • 8 Large Apples
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon or spices of choice

Instructions

  1. Core and quarter apples. 
  2. Add water, lemon juice and apples into cooking container- medium stockpot, crockpot or instant pot. Mix apples t coat them with lemon. 
  3. On stove top, cover and simmer until soft, stirring occasionally, for about 30 minutes. In crockpot, cover for 4-6 hours. In instant pot, cook on manual (high pressure) for eight minutes. 
  4. When apples are soft, remove from heat. Remove skins with a food strainer, food mill or chinois. 
  5. Add cinnamon or spices. 
  6. Enjoy warm or allow to cool completely and store in refrigerator for up to 10 days.
