Ingredients
7 large turnips, peeled and quartered
1 cup milk
2 tbsp butter
Salt and ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
For easier peeling: use a fork to poke holes in turnips, and then microwave for 5 minutes. Remove carefully (they’re hot!) and proceed to peel and quarter.
Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook turnips until tender, 35-45 minutes. Strain and rinse.
Mash turnips in pot without any seasonings first, and strain out excess water again.
In a large mixing bowl, add mashed turnips, butter, salt, pepper, and a small amount of milk. Add milk gradually until you reach desired texture.
